10/4/07 - INDOT installing new technology to help keep ice away, motorists safer on I-65 bridge - "INDOT constantly assesses new ways to protect the public's safety," said Tony McClellan, INDOT highway operations director.  "This bridge has a tendency to develop icing problems which drivers are often unaware of - until it is too late.  Motorists get surprised, and that can lead to accidents.  Our goal is to reduce winter weather-related crashes at this site."

9/10/07 - IDOT installing new technology to help keep ice away, motorists safer in northwestern Chicago suburb - "IDOT constantly assesses new ways to protect the public's safety," said Sarah Wilson, IDOT bridge maintenance engineer.  "These bridges, which lie along a heavily traveled commercial route, are known to have icing problems.  Our goal is to reduce winter weather-related accidents."

9/6/07 - New crash data confirms "significant reduction" in accidents at SafeLane™ overlay test site in Minnesota - Dr. John Evans of the University of Minnesota Duluth evaluated crash data for the past three years and notes, the evidence "strongly suggests that this overlay system is strongly contributing to accident reduction."

7/10/07 - Mn/DOT installing new technology to keep ice away, drivers safer in Bemidji - “We selected this bridge because it’s on a highly traveled route near the local high school and has above average crash rates,” said Lynn Eaton, district engineer, Mn/DOT District 2.

7/6/07 - VTrans installing new technology to keep ice away, motorists safer -

“VTrans constantly assesses new ways to protect the public’s safety,” said VTrans Secretary Neale Lunderville. “This research project’s goal is to improve traction and mobility for vehicles heading up Route 9 in Searsburg, which has a very steep grade. Cars and trucks frequently have problems in this area during winter storm events.”
