SafeLane Overlay is already keeping ice away and drivers safer on roads and bridges. Now, SafeLane™ CA-48 Overlay promises to improve winter operations at airports and military bases, when applied to baggage handling areas, walkways and parking ramps.

SafeLane CA-48 overlay acts like a rigid sponge to absorb anti-icing chemicals, and then automatically releases them when the conditions are right for the formation of frost or ice. CA-48 overlay has all the benefits of its parent, SafeLane ™ HDX, but uses a smaller aggregate material. SafeLane CA-48 overlay is the focus of continued research and testing to obtain approvals for usage on taxiways, in order to provide even greater safety assurance for air travelers.
